What do you want to do?
Create and edit Calendar events with the keyboard
Command-N adds a Calendar event. Command-E edits the selected event. While an event is open, Tab and Shift-Tab move between its fields.
Steps, keys and context ↗Switch Calendar between day, week, month and year
In Calendar, Command-1 through Command-4 select Day, Week, Month and Year. Command-Left or Right Arrow moves to the adjacent period for that view.
Steps, keys and context ↗Move a Calendar event by time or day
In Calendar’s Week view, Control-Option-Up or Down Arrow moves a selected event by 15 minutes, while Control-Option-Left or Right Arrow moves it by one day.
Steps, keys and context ↗Inspect Calendar event details and print an agenda
Command-I shows information for a selected calendar or event. Command-P prints events or the current calendar view, depending on your selection and context.
Steps, keys and context ↗Find a Calendar date or search for an event
Command-T returns Calendar to today. Shift-Command-T goes to a specific date, while Command-F searches for events rather than choosing a date.
Steps, keys and context ↗Check Calendar visibility before refreshing
Command-R refreshes calendars. With the calendar list open, Space toggles the selected calendar’s visibility. Visibility and server synchronization are different checks.

When a shortcut behaves differently
- Confirm you are using the Mac binding, and check whether the guide describes a desktop app or its web version.
- Put focus in the control named in the guide. Editing text, selecting an object and navigating a sidebar can use different keys.
- Look up the command in the app's menu or shortcut settings. Customized keys and non-US keyboard layouts can differ from documented defaults.
The cited documentation was checked for these guides; a documentation review is separate from testing your particular running app. How we verify and update guides →
