First determine whether the calendar is hidden

When an appointment seems missing, look at the calendar list before refreshing repeatedly. A calendar whose checkbox is not selected may simply be excluded from the visible view. Make sure the correct calendar is selected in the list, then inspect its checkbox. Do not confuse the selection highlight with the visibility checkbox; they communicate different things about the interface.

Refresh when the displayed data may be stale

A refresh requests updated calendar information, while revealing a hidden calendar changes the set you are viewing. Neither action edits an appointment’s title or time. If a shared event is still missing, also check the date range and whether the account is the expected one. A shortcut cannot establish that a server has accepted an event or that another person has shared it correctly.

Build a missing-event checklist

Use a known event and note its calendar. Temporarily hide that calendar, verify that the event is no longer visible, then show it again. Refresh only after restoring the intended visible set. Finish by returning to the original date range. This order makes the cause of a disappearing event easier to understand and avoids treating every viewing issue as a synchronization failure.
