Match the view to the planning question
Use Day when you need to inspect a detailed schedule, Week when comparing several working days, and Month when checking dates across a longer period. Year is useful for broader orientation. Changing the view changes the scale of the calendar you see; it should not be confused with moving an event or changing the event’s start and end times.
Notice what the navigation unit becomes
Apple documents the same Command-arrow navigation for the next or previous day, week, month or year. Its effect therefore depends on the active view. Before repeatedly pressing it, read the date range on screen. If you expected tomorrow but see a different week, verify the selected view first rather than concluding that an event has moved or disappeared.
Run a view-and-return check
Start from today, switch to Week, move one period forward, then switch to Month. Compare the date headings at each step. Return to today and inspect the schedule in Day view. This simple round trip teaches both the scale and the navigation unit, and it is safe because you do not need to edit any events to practice it.
