Find Figma Design actions with the keyboard on Mac

Command-K opens the Actions menu in Figma Design on Mac. Search for the action you need and choose it from the results. This is a useful discovery route when you do not know a direct shortcut or a menu location.

Scope
Figma · Figma Design on Mac; not a promise that these controls exist in every Figma product. Documentation checked 4 November 2026.
Keyboard and customization
English documentation and US-style key names. Punctuation and function keys can differ on other layouts.. These are documentation-backed defaults, not a hands-on test. App settings, operating-system shortcuts, extensions and keyboard layout can change what happens. Check focus and the current app menu or shortcut settings when a binding differs.
Review basis

Describe the intended change

Search for an action such as an alignment operation or a preference, rather than guessing a tool key from another design application. The selected objects and your file permissions can affect which actions make sense. Read the result label before choosing it; similarly named commands can act on one selection, a page or a larger scope.

Use discovery without running an unfamiliar command

Opening Actions is a way to inspect available choices. Confirming one can change the document or preferences. When learning, choose an innocuous view setting first and observe what changes. If a command concerns multiple layers, first check the selection so a quick search does not become an accidental bulk edit.

Check newer and older shortcut references

Figma’s interface and documentation evolve. This guide uses the current Actions documentation, which gives Command-K. If an older tutorial shows a different entry point, use the app’s current help and visible controls to resolve it. Practice in a permitted scratch file and treat the command’s actual result as the check, not merely the menu opening.
