Format the message after its meaning is clear

Draft the request or update first, then select the words that deserve emphasis. A short label such as Decision or Next step can make a message easier to scan without making every sentence bold. Keep the exact action and recipient visible so formatting supports the communication instead of carrying its meaning alone.

Keep formatting focus inside the composer

These bindings apply when the text caret is in the message field. A focused message in conversation history has different one-key actions. Before practicing, confirm you are editing an unsent draft and select a few words. If the browser handles a command instead, check the context or use the desktop app rather than assuming the Mac modifier is wrong.

Practice with a draft you can discard

Write two harmless lines, make one phrase bold, add a descriptive link and undo a formatting change. Review the preview before deciding to send anything. The point of this exercise is to recognize the formatting and line-break behavior; it does not require posting a test message to coworkers or changing an existing conversation.
