Start from what you remember

If you know words in the page already on screen, use page Find. If you remember a page title or a destination elsewhere in the workspace, open search instead. These tools have different scopes, so a missing page title in the local Find results does not mean the page has disappeared from your workspace.

Keep selected text and global search distinct

Notion also uses Command-K to link selected text. If the link editor appears when you expected page search, inspect the selection rather than pressing the shortcut repeatedly. Command-P is another documented route to page search. Search results can also depend on access, sources and filters, so read the result’s location before choosing it.

Check a result before using it as an answer

Open the result, read the page heading and inspect the relevant passage. Similar project pages can contain older decisions or repeated templates. For practice, choose a harmless page, find a phrase inside it, then search for a second page and return through history. This teaches search scope without creating or editing content.
