Create Notion pages, tabs and windows on Mac
In Notion’s Mac desktop app, Command-N creates a page, Command-T opens a Notion tab and Command-Shift-N opens another Notion window. A new container is different from a new content page.

Decide whether you need content or another view
A new page adds a content item. Another tab or window gives you a place to view work. When comparing a specification with notes, opening the existing pages side by side can be more appropriate than creating duplicate pages. Check the page location before adding content to a shared workspace.
Keep browser shortcuts outside this desktop workflow
Command-T in a web browser normally creates a browser tab; that is not the same as Notion’s desktop tab command. This guide describes the desktop app for that operation. If your workspace is open in Safari or Chrome, use Notion’s visible link-opening controls and your browser’s navigation model rather than assuming every desktop key applies.
Check the two-view arrangement
Open one harmless reference in the first view and another page in the second. Confirm their titles and workspace before writing. Close an unnecessary view through the app’s visible controls when finished. A second window should make comparison clearer; it should not create uncertainty about which copy of a draft you are editing or which organization receives a new page.
