Confirm the recipient before writing a long message
Start a new message and check the intended person or group before composing anything sensitive. A familiar conversation title does not replace checking who is included. If your message has several points, decide where its paragraphs should break before using Return. In this app, a bare Return is a send action rather than the ordinary paragraph break you may expect from a document editor.
Use an explicit line-break combination
Apple lists Option-Return and Shift-Return for adding a line break or a new paragraph inside a message. Use one of these while the message field is focused. Adding blank lines can make a short list or a set of instructions clearer, but it does not change who will receive the message. Read the complete draft before sending, including any text brought in by copy and paste.
Practice in an unsent draft
Create a harmless three-line draft such as Arrival time, Meeting point and Contact person. Use a modified Return between the lines and verify that the text remains in the composer. You do not need to send the sample to learn the difference. If you decide to send a test, use a conversation you control and make the test purpose clear rather than experimenting in a busy group.
