Mac shortcuts for this workflow
Choose the output before pressing a key
Saving a webpage and printing it serve different purposes. A saved page may include local resources; a print view uses the website’s print presentation and the chosen destination. Decide whether you need a reading copy, a physical printout or a file for later review before selecting the command.
Inspect the preview and destination
For a receipt or reference article, check page range, orientation and the visible content in the print preview. A web app may hide controls or sections in print. A saved file likewise does not guarantee that interactive features, sign-in access or remote resources will work offline. Open the result and inspect it rather than assuming success from the dialog closing.
Keep local files distinct from live websites
Use the file-opening shortcut when you already have a supported local document. Read its address or title so you do not mistake it for the live website. For a simple practice check, save a harmless public article, reopen the result and compare its heading and main text with the original tab before relying on the workflow for important material.
