Use Find to understand the matches first

A text fragment can occur in labels, notes or formulas with different meanings. Search before replacing, inspect several results and decide whether the same edit belongs in each. A workbook can contain many similarly structured sheets, so verify which sheet or broader scope the current search is using.

Treat replacement as a data change

The replacement text and matching options should be checked together. Start with a single match when the effect is uncertain and inspect the result before using a broader action. In a calculation workbook, changing a text fragment inside formulas can have consequences different from changing a visible description or category name.

Use a cell address when location is already known

If someone gives you an exact cell or range, Go To can be more direct than searching for a value that appears several times. Practice on a copy containing a few harmless repeated labels. Compare finding a word, replacing one occurrence and navigating to a specific cell so you can choose the smallest operation that solves the real task.
