Use the separate window as a clear boundary
A Private Browsing window is useful when you want a browsing context separate from the ordinary window you were using. Apple also suggests it as a troubleshooting step when website data may be involved. Confirm the mode shown in Safari rather than assuming that every newly opened window is private.
Do not treat private mode as anonymity
A private window is not a promise that a website, account, network or downloaded file cannot identify activity. Keep this workflow focused on choosing Safari’s browsing mode. If you sign in to a service or submit information, those actions still have their normal consequences outside the local window’s history behaviour.
Finish the session deliberately
When the temporary browsing task is complete, close the intended private context and return to the ordinary window. Be careful when several windows look similar. During practice, use a public page instead of signing in or changing account data; the goal is to learn how to recognise the browsing mode and its window boundary.
