Create a normal Finder folder or a Smart Folder

Decide whether files should move
A normal folder is a place where you can store items. A Smart Folder is a way to return to a search result set. Choose the former when you are organising a project’s actual location; choose the latter when you want to revisit files matching conditions without moving those files into a new container.
Name and inspect the result
For a normal folder, give it a meaningful name and check which parent folder contains it. For a saved search, examine the criteria before saving. Similar-looking Finder windows can disguise these different meanings, so do not begin moving files until you know whether the result is a physical folder or a search view.
Try it with disposable material
Create a practice folder in a safe location and give it a distinctive temporary name. Separately open a Smart Folder search and inspect the criteria without making it part of your working organisation. Compare what each view represents; the important distinction is storage location versus a reusable way of finding files.
